Wilson C. Meyers,
Marble Rock, Dies

Marble Rock, Iowa — Following ill health for the past several years, Wilson C. Meyers, 79, died here Monday afternoon of a stroke.

Born July 12, 1864, at Uniontown near Akron, Ohio, he came to Marble Rock in the 1880's and in 1885 married Ella Gates, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gates. She died about two and one-half years ago.

Mr. Meyers directed the Meyers Family orchestra at Marble Rock, Waterloo and in Florida for some time.

He leaves three daughters*, Parcie, Delray Beach, Florida; two sons, Clarence, Pennsylvania, and Milton, Marble Rock; two grandsons and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday or Saturday at the Methodist church pending the arrival of his daughter, Parcie. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.

His body is at the Watterson Funeral home.

NOTES:

He was of Marble Rock, Iowa, and was a musician. They eventually moved to Waterloo, Iowa.

"Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Meyers and daughter, Parcie, have returned to their Waterloo home from a winter's sojourn in Florida."
