CHARLES CITY, IOWA Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church here and burial at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Masonic Cemetery at Tipton for Mrs. Wilfred A. Blodgett, 71. She died Sunday in the Cedar Valley Hospital, following surgery. The Grossmann-Hage Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Blodgett was born in Brookings, South Dakota, March 26, 1889, the daughter of John R. and Eunice Hand Hite. She attended the Brookings Public Schools, the Brookings State College and was a graduate of the College of Swedish Massage in Chicago, Illinois.

On March 1, 1935 in Rock Island, Illinois, she was married to Wilfred A. Blodgett.

Mrs. Blodgett was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Wa-Tan-Ye Club and was a past president of the Iowa Chapter of the American Massage and Therapy Assn.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard J. Tompkins, Lakewood, California, Russell E. Tompkins, Buellton, California; two daughters, Mrs. John Mathias, Muscatine, and Mrs. James W. Harness, Arlesia, California: 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four brothers: C. L. Hite, San Pedro, California; Earl Hite. Fox Lake, Wisconsin, Harry Hite, Wasau, Wisconsin, and Loil Hite, Fulton, Illinois, and three sisters: Mrs. Laura Hoon, Tipton, Mrs. Blanche Brown and Mrs. Pearl Pedersen, both of Clinton.

Ellen Elise (Hite) Tompkins, Blodgett.....she was the daughter of John Russell Hite and Eunice Viola (Hand) Hite.

She married Jerard Remis "Judd" Tompkins on January 2, 1906 in Moody County, South Dakota, the son of Sherman and Emma Tompkins. Jerard died July 19, 1931.

She married Wilfred Alfonzo Blodgett March 1, 1935.

Her obit says she was born in South Dakota but census records say she was born In Minnesota.
