Della Luella (Schroeder) Hansen – March 7, 1884 – October 28, 1969

MRS. DELLA HANSEN

Mrs. Della Luella Schroeder Hansen, daughter of Marie and Martin Schroeder, was born in Floyd County, Iowa, March 7, 1884, and passed from this life on October 28, 1969, while a resident of the Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City. She was 85 years, seven months, and 21 days of age at the time of her death.

Mrs. Hansen lived her entire life in the Nashua area of Iowa. She was educated here and for a short time, attended the Charles City College.

She was married to Joe Hansen, January 6, 1916 in Charles City. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen lived and farmed in the area for many years. Mrs. Hansen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six sisters, one brother, and one grandchild.

She leaves to mourn her passing: five daughters; Leora, Mrs. Leonard Paine, Mason City; Lucille, Mrs. Arnold Dixon, Grundy Center; Esther, Mrs. Louis Juhl of Greene; Virginia, Mrs. Bernard Hoy, Nashua; and Della, Mrs. Eldon Reeves, Waterloo.

Also one sister, Emma, Mrs. Oscar Anderson of Charles City; three brothers; Art Schroeder of Billings, Montana; Frank Schroeder of Morris, Minnesota; Henry Schroeder of El Monte, California; 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. October 30 from St. John Lutheran Church, the Rev. Charles Hulsether officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Music was by Lela and Kathleen Jakel, vocalists, and Mrs. Jack Schloemer, organist. Flowers were in charge of Mmes. Franklin Cerwinske and Ernest Botterbrodt. Casket bearers were Albert Wolff, Franklin Cerwinske, Maynard Biekert, Leroy Schulz, Ernest Botterbrodt, and Merle Hatzky.

Mrs. Hansen had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Louie Juhl of Greene, the past two years before entering the Chautauqua Guest Home.
