Charles City, Iowa — Delores Berns, 82, of Charles City, entered into her eternal rest on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.
Funeral services for Delores Berns will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor Dennis Niezwaag will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the church and an hour prior to the service.

Delores Pearl Haradon Berns was born September 2, 1930, at Lake City, Minn., the daughter of Clarence and Pearl (Stephan) Haradon. She received her education at Lake City. On July 2, 1976, she was united in marriage to Willard "Bill" Berns. For several years she was a care giver and for 28 years worked with Bill at Superior Sports.
Delores was an active member of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her interests included flower and vegetable gardening and antiquing. She will be remembered as a great cook excelling especially in her blue ribbon butterhorns. Delores's family was very important to her and she looked forward to sharing life's experiences with them.
Living family members include her husband, Willard "Bill" Berns of Charles City; two children, Sharon (John) Wirkler of Lancaster, Wisc., Janet (Jerry) Schwickerath of Mora, N.M., four step children, Barb (Denny) Banks of Charles City, Russ (Gloria) Berns of Charles City, Steve (Rita) Berns of Charles City and Jan (John) Ames of Seattle, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Kris Kuykendall of Osage; 27 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Adler of Lake City, Minn. and Harriet Krusmark of Plainfield, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Frederick Kuykendall; and four sisters.
