Kenneth E. Heusman – February 21, 1925 – July 18, 2009

Kenneth E. Heusman, 84 of Monroe died at Foundation Park, Toledo where he had been for sixteen months.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe. He will lie in state at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. The Rev. Gary Tryggestad and Rev. Ross Ulrich, pastors of the church will officiate. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, Michigan.

Born February 21, 1925 in Floyd County, Iowa he was the son of Arthur and Matilda (Troge) Heusman. He married Irene A. Kurtz July 21, 1945 at Zion Lutheran Church, Monroe. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2001.

After his graduation from Monroe High School he worked for a short time in a grocery store and also in construction work. He then worked for Consolidated Paper Co. for 17 years, leaving there as Sales Manager for their specialty products area. He then worked for Colonial Board Co. for 10 years, being their assistant Vice President of their Automotive Division that he started.

The last 10 years he started his own Sales Agency, retiring in September 1996.
Ken was active in his church duties at Zion Lutheran Church and St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Monroe. He and his wife enjoyed vacationing in Arizona, Florida and Michigan. They also enjoyed spending time with their sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His retirement hobbies included bowling, golfing and working in the yard.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth A. (Gail) Heusman of Carleton and Richard L. (Helen) Heusman of Monroe; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charles Heusman and two sisters, Myrtle Sylvester and Cora Pesartic.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
