CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Floyd August Henry Flugge, 79, of Knoxville, formerly of Charles City and Mason City, died Sunday, September 24, 2000, at Veterans Administration Hospital, Knoxville, of natural causes.

Survivors include a son, Meldon of Leesville, Louisiana; a daughter, Marilyn Flugge-Buttjer of Charles City; five brothers, Lloyd of Charles City, Ralph of Lime Springs, Donald of Pella, Alden of Osage and Roy of Chickasaw, Oklahoma; and four sisters, Helen Barbtels of Denver, Clara Freebury of Waverly. Roseanna LaBarge of Nashua and Inez Boddle of Rochester, Minn.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin; and four sisters: Alvina Jordan and Leona Reetz, and Delphine and Melina Flugge in infancy.

Private services will be held: Cremation Society of Iowa, Des Moines, is in charge of arrangements.

A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Flugge was a policeman for 11 years until 1971, then worked in the foundry at White Farm for three years.
