Florence (Doble) Dight – July 26, 1863 – June 26, 1942

DIGHT FUNERAL RITES AT GROSSMAN CHAPEL

Charles City – Funeral services are being held here at 2 p.m. Monday for Mrs. Florence Dight, 78, who died at her farm home 10 miles west of here Friday night following an extended illness. She was the widow of Henry Dight, who died February 7, this year.

Surviving are one son, Thomas, a grandson, Howard, and two great-grandsons, Charles and Robert Dight, all living in this community.

Mrs. Dight was born in Burrow Way, England, and came to the United States at the age of 26, joining Mr. Dight in New York. The family lived at Gardner, Illinois and Clarion before moving to the farm here ten years ago.

Services were at Grossman’s Chapel with the Rev. Sterling Baldwin of the Rudd Church officiating and burial was made in Oakwood Cemetery at Floyd.
