Myrl Franklin Hicks – August 27, 1897 – September 25, 1964

MYRL F. HICKS

Charles City – Myrl F. Hicks, 67, died Friday at his home here. He was born August 27, 1897, in Latimer to John and Sara Hicks. On July 20, 1916 in Oklahoma City, he was married to Bertha Marie Krogmann. He had retired as a sales manager for the Oliver Corporation in 1962. He had been employed there 44 years.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth, Charles City; daughter; Mrs. Harlan (Bernice) Behnke, Charles City; four grandchildren; two brothers; Clifford, Des Moines; Syrl, Beloit, Wisconsin; three sisters; Mrs. Rube Guldberg, Hampton; Mrs. Jess Lage, Marshalltown; Mrs. Oscar Guldberg, Charles City. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1962.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. (DST) at St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with Grossmann-Hage Funeral Home in charge.
