Death: January 12, 2013CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Vernon Feltz, 88, of Charles City, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
Funeral services for Vernon Feltz will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City. Pastor Jim Beranek will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday January 18, 2013, at the Hauser Funeral Home, and also an hour prior to the service Saturday.
Vernon Wilfred Feltz was born March 9, 1924 in McIntire, Iowa the son of Norman and Beatrice Feltz. He attended rural country school in Howard County. Vernon proudly served our country from 1942 to 1948 for the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater.
On July 10, 1950 he was united in marriage to Susiellen Wiltse in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Vernon worked for Oliver White Farm for 37 years. He loved fishing and bowling. Vernon was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, Loyal Order of the Moose, many bowling leagues, and Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City.
Living family members include two sons, Jerry and Mike Feltz, both of Charles City; two daughters, Carmen and Terri Feltz, both of Coralville; a brother Duane (Lorna) Feltz of Waverly; four sisters, Pat (Gayln) Lynch of New Hampton, Bev (Bert) Sorensen of Grand Meadow, Minn., Sharon (Dick) Bilharz, of Coldstream, Mont., and Bernice Petersen of Pipestone, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Susiellen, an infant son Larry Lee; brothers Harlan, Stanly and Kenny Feltz, and a sister Loraine Ritter.
