Margaret Lauer Jeffrey

Mason City, Iowa - Margaret Lauer Jeffrey, 90, of 88 Sunny Circle, Mason City, Iowa, died Friday Dec. 21, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral Mass for Margaret will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 27, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City, Iowa, with the Rev. Rodney Allers officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with a scriptural wake service beginning at 5 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, Iowa.

Margaret was born December 29, 1921, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Laura (Himber) Lauer. She graduated from Mason City High School. She married Gerald Jeffrey on October 16, 1941. They farmed north of Rockwell for more than 35 years and moved to Mason City in 1985. She enjoyed living on the farm, traveling and most of all being around her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City, Iowa.

Margaret is survived by her six children: Kathy Desannoy, Mason City, Iowa, Marlys Degen, Mason City, Iowa, Robert (Ramona) Jeffrey, Mason City, Iowa, Joanne Pedersen, Mason City, Iowa, Linda (John) Marino, Clear Lake, Iowa, and Jerry (Shana) Jeffrey, Rockwell, Iowa; grandchildren Joe (Susan) Desannoy, Jeff (Kate) Desannoy, Michelle (Matt) Tyrrell, Christopher Degen, Chad (Cynthia) Jeffrey, Amy (Neil) Hunt, Brian (Anneliese) Jeffrey, Mike (Amy) Pedersen, Suzanne (Jim) Lange, Jennifer (Mike) Corn, Mark (Shasha) Pedersen, Stephanie (Chris) Waters, Jodi (Craig) Mayland, Lisa Halsne, Scott (Brandi) Halsne, Kelli Jeffrey, Cheyene (Grant) Petersen, Ben (Lacey) Jeffrey, Kendra Newton, April Jeffrey and Siera Jeffrey; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister Marie Thomas, Mason City, Iowa, and brother Don (Phyllis) Lauer, Libertyville, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; parents; two brothers, Frances and Vince Lauer; and a sister, Marian Juhl.
