CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Arlene Elliott, 71, of Charles City, died Saturday, December 22, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral services for Arlene Elliott will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Dennis Niezwaag will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday an hour prior to the service.

Arlene Elliott, 71, of Charles City, died Saturday, December 22, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Arlene Avis Voelker Elliott was born January 24, 1941, in Floyd County, the daughter of Ernest and Alvina (Harnisch) Voelker. She graduated from Charles City High School. On November 24, 1958, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Elliott at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. Over the years she worked at various nursing homes, drove school bus for just over three years and at Sara Lee in New Hampton for 27 years.

She was a member of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church and Double C Saddle Club. Arlene enjoyed various kinds of animals, doing a wide variety of crafts and going to garage sales. She always looked forward to being part of her family's lives and experiences.

Living family members include her husband, Kenneth Elliott of Charles City; two children, Wendy (Gary) Vance of Colwell and Randall (Tammy) Elliott of Charles City; four grandchildren, Dominic Vance and fiancée Danielle Sherman, Melissa Vance, Justin Elliott and special friend Rose, and Callie Elliott; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Marian (Larry) Smith of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandy Elliott; and a brother, Arnold Voelker.
