Charles City, Iowa - Irene Rosenberg, 86, of Charles City, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Cedar Health in Charles City.
Funeral services for Irene Rosenberg will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor Dennis Niezwaag will officiate. Burial will be at Sunnyside Memorial Garden, Charles City.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home, and Saturday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Irene Margaret Becker Rosenberg was born August 27, 1926 at Charles City, the daughter of Walter and Meta (Rieken) Becker. She graduated in 1944 from Charles City High School. On August 15, 1948 she married Floyd Flugge. They later divorced.
On November 21, 1987 she was united in marriage to Glenn Rosenberg. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at the Riverside Chautauqua. Irene was a member of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies were dancing, gardening, sewing, baking, and cooking, but she best enjoyed being a foster grandparent at Washington School, where she was recognized as a foster grandparent of the month.
Living family members include a son Meldon (Roberta) Flugge of Leesville, Louisiana, daughter Marilyn (Dave) Buttjer of Charles City; step-children Sharon (James) Parcel of Riceville, and Diane Peterson of Carpenter; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Jason, and Rebecca Flugge; Matthew (Angela), and Benjamin Buttjer; six step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and six step-great grandchildren; and a brother Albert (Catherine) Becker of New York.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Floyd Flugge, and Glenn Rosenberg; two brothers, Clarence and Harry Becker; two sisters, Esther Becker, and Elsie Hoeft, and a step-grandson, Jason Parcel.
