Flora Lorraine (Drury) Berk – September 9, 1923 – December 5, 2010

Flora Lorraine Berk passed away on December 5, 2010 in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born September 9, 1923 to Orville and Odna Calkins Drury in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa.

She attended school in Rockford and graduated in 1941. Flora worked as a telephone operator, a sales person, a photo technician, and a lab technician at Dr. Salisbury's Pharmaceutical Laboratories in Charles City.

She retired in 1967. Flora married Harold Berk on February 28, 1946 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. Harold and Flora made their home in Charles City for 27 years followed by successive moves to Edina, Minnesota; Muncie, Indiana and Blytheville, Arkansas.

They moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1981 and lived there until her death. She enjoyed her family and friends, her homes, flowers, shopping and traveling. She and Harold traveled often, and enjoyed trips throughout the United States and Hawaiian Islands. They also made several trips to Europe and Northern Africa.

Flora was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Virgil Drury, and sister Verona Conzett. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harold; sister, Reva Jarosh, Burlington, Iowa ; sister-in-law, Betty Boomhower, Lake Havasu City, Arizona; brother-in-law Jerry Berk (Connie), Mt. Vernon, Missouri; 15 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8 PM with a Memorial Service on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 2:30 PM, Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.
