Mary Katherine (Blumenstiel) Slay -- Dec. 21, 1916 – Jan. 18, 2007

Mary K. Slay, 90, of Cottonwood, Ariz. and former longtime resident of Sedona, Ariz., died Jan. 18, 2007.

Slay was preceded by husband, Harold D. Slay; and is survived by a son, Richard [Rochelle] Slay, of Goodyear; a daughter, Linda [Paul] Slay, of Phoenix; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service takes place at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Migus Ave., on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m.

Mary K. (Blumenstiel) Slay

Born in Charles City, Iowa on Dec. 21, 1916.
Departed on Jan. 18, 2007 and resided in Cottonwood, Ariz.

Mary K. Slay, 90, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Alvarado Pines Home. She was born December 21, 1916 in Charles City, Iowa to Fred and Lottie (Kellogg) Blumenstiel.

Mary was a professional violinist, and truly loved music. She was a member of the Flagstaff Symphony for 25 years, and participated in the USO during WWII. Mary was also a member of the Unity Church of Sedona.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Slay. She leaves behind her son, Richard I. Slay with his wife, Rochelle of Goodyear, Arizona; her daughter, Linda A. Slay with her husband Paul of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Westcott Funeral Home on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.
