RITES HELD FOR WOMAN WHO HAD
BEEN IN FAILING HEALTH LONG TIME

Rockford, Iowa, Oct 28 – Funeral service for Mrs. Martha Bird, 84, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist church with the Rev. C. E. Luce in charge.

Mrs. Bird died Sunday. She had been in poor health for a number of years but had been confined to her bed for the past three months.

She leaves a son, Frank Ernest, and daughter, Clara, who made their home with her. Her husband preceded her in death. Interment was in the Rockford Cemetery.

Martha J. Reasoner was born November 28, 1845 in New York, the daughter of Jacob Reasoner and Lucy (Countryman) Reasoner.

She married John W. Bird on February 1, 1881 in Ogle County, Illinois.
