Dorothy Jean Tapp -- February 27, 1934-January 7, 2004

HAMPTON - Dorothy J. Tapp, 69, of Hampton died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East Campus in Mason City. Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 6, at 1 p.m. at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton with Mark Luckiesh officiating. Inurnment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. There will be no visitation. There will be a luncheon following the memorial service at Bryan and Marlene Tapp's house, 221 1st St. S.E., Hampton.

Dorothy was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Rockford to Susie Mehmen. She graduated from Rockford High School in Rockford. On April 3, 1954, she was married to Leonard Tapp in Austin, Minn. Dorothy was a homemaker. She enjoyed Bingo, her family, playing cards, reading, crossword puzzles and knitting hats for the needy and her family members.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Cerwinske and husband Marvin, Vicki Miller and husband Arlyn, all of Hampton, and Susan Birdsall and fiancé Bill Ringham of Mason City; three sons, David and wife Kimberly of Mason City, Bryan and wife Marlene and Walter and wife Ruth, all of Hampton; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather; her husband, Leonard; one daughter, Belinda; and two grandsons.
