Katharina (Scheidecker) Schallock – July 6, 1889 – July 17, 1945
DIES FOLLOWING MAJOR SURGERY
EMBOLUS CAUSES DEATH OF MRS. SCHALLOCK, 56Charles City – Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Central Methodist Church for Mrs. H. C. Schallock, 56 who died unexpectedly in the Cedar Valley Hospital Tuesday evening from an embolus following major surgery performed several days ago.
Mrs. Schallock had been a lifelong resident of this community and was a member of the Central Methodist Church. The pastor, the Rev. Clarence Dwight James, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Wesley F. Belling, also of Charles City and interment will be made in Riverside Cemetery. The body will remain at the Hauser Funeral Home until noon Friday.
Katharina Scheidecker was born July 6, 1889, to John Michael and Katharina Vetter Scheidecker in Fremont Township, Butler County, Iowa
On April 14, 1910, she was married to Herman C. Schallock and to this union were born 4 children; Carl Schallock, Riverton Township; Mrs. Louise Krueger and Esther Schallock, Charles City. One son, Milton Schallock, was reported killed in action at Ora Bay, New Guinea, in the armed services, October 31, 1944.Besides the immediate family, her mother; Mrs. Katharina Scheidecker, lives near Charles City; also 8 brothers and sisters; Mrs. Fred Litterer, Greene; Gottfried Schiedecker; Mrs. Albert Schallock; George Scheidecker; Herman Scheidecker; and Mrs. Louise Schilling, all living near Clarksville; Mrs. Evil Vetter, Nashua; and Mrs. Milton Benz, Charles City.
