WAR VETERAN IS KILLED BY ROLING BOMB
Susanville – the body of Wilbur Allen Ikenberry, whose skull was crushed by a rolling bomb at the Army Ammunition Depot at Herlong, was being shipped to Sawtelle Veterans Home Today.
The 48 year old World War Veteran is survived by his widow and two daughters and four sons in the armed forces. He was a native of Marblerock IowaHayward Review, Hayward, California Saturday August 19, 1941

Wilbur Allen Ikenberry was born April 30, 1896 in Floyd County Iowa, the son of Frank Edward Ikenberry and Mary Margaret (Taylor) Ikenberry.
He married Leila Maxwell, the daughter of and Charles L. Maxwell and Augusta Amelia (Abendroth) Maxwell.
Wilbur was buried in the Los Angeles National Cemetery, Los Angeles, California.
