Mary Ilene (Baker) Bloomingdale – February 21, 1910 – October 19, 1997
MASON CITY — Mary Ilene Bloomingdale, 87, of Mason City, died Sunday (Oct. 19, 1997) at the Good Shepherd Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 2502 S. Jefferson Ave., with the Rev. Joel Dahlen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Mary Ilene Bloomingdale was born Feb. 21, 1910, in Nora Springs, daughter of Walter and Maude (Shimer) Baker.
She married Gerald Bloomingdale on Nov. 9, 1929, in Albert Lea, Minn.
Survivors include four daughters, Phyllis Helgeson and her husband, Truman, Lake Mills; Peggy Scholl and her husband, Raymond, Mason City; Janice Bloomingdale, Clear Lake, and Diane Lysen and her husband, Douglas, Minneapolis, Minn.; three sons, Jerry Bloomingdale and his wife, Patricia, Republic, Mo.; Tom Bloomingdale and his wife, Eileen, LeClaire, and Jack Bloomingdale and his wife, Nancy, Springfield, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Delores Bloomingdale, Northwood; one sister, Darlene Renner, Mason City; 28 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald; one son, Ronald Bloomingdale; one daughter, Mary Alice Wellborn; one granddaughter, Linda Helgeson; two grandsons, Douglas Scholl and Matt Bloomingdale; one great-grandson, Ricky Scholl; four sisters; and three brothers
