Sylvia M (Erickson) Snyder – August 19, 1853 – January 1934
MRS. SNYDER FUNERAL IS HELD AT ROCKFORD
Rockford, Jan. 25 – Funeral services were held Tuesday in charge of the Rev. E. A. Sabin at the home of Mrs. W. H. Snyder who died after a week’s illness of pleurisy and a severe heart attack.
Mrs. Snyder was born in Christinna, Norway, August 19, 1853, and came to this country when 18, settling in Minnesota, later coming to Plymouth
On March 23, 1878, she was married to William H. Snyder at Mason City. They resided in Plymouth and Greene, later coming to Rockford where they lived for 51 years. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary six years ago this coming March. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the W. R. C., until it disbanded, as well as the American Legion Auxiliary and the Ladies Aid of the M. e. Church.
Mrs. Snyder is survived by her aged husband who is one of the two remaining Civil War Veterans left in Rockford; two daughters; Mrs. H.E. Yerkes of Shell Rock; Mrs. C. A. Weigand, Rockford; and one son; E. L. Snyder of Waterloo; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
