Matilda (McIlvenny) Palmer – ca.. 1883 – April 2, 1943

SERVICE WEDNESDAY AT ROCKFORD CHURCH FOR MRS. A. L. PALMER, 50

Rockford – Funeral services for Mrs. A. L. Palmer, 50, who died Sunday afternoon, following a long illness will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the home and at 2 o’clock at the Methodist church with the Rev. Fred A. Smith officiating. Burial will be at Riverside.

Mrs. Palmer, who was born in Glasgow, Scotland, came to the United States with two sisters at the age of 16 and has lived in Rockford since that time. On March 7, 1911, she was married to A. L. Palmer of Rockford.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Sgt. Russel Raymond Palmer, serving with the U.S. Armed Forces in North Africa; five sisters; Mrs. Wesley Skilling and Miss Martha McIlvenny of Belfast, Ireland; Mrs. John Rath; Mrs. Charles Young; and Mrs. James Chate, Rockford; two brothers; Charles and James McIlvenny of Belfast, Ireland; and two grandchildren.

One son, Clifford E. preceded her in death three years ago.
