VINTON, IOWA - Gertrude "Trudy" Dickman Pribbenow, 102, of Vinton, and formerly of Rockford, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehabilitation in Vinton.
Funeral services for Trudy Pribbenow will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Martha Bennett of Floyd Grace United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lynwood Cemetery at Clarksville.

Gertrude Alberta Engel Dickman Pribbenow was born March 19, 1910, at Clarksville, the daughter of August and Francizzka (Engel) Engel. She graduated from Clarksville High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College and Wartburg College where she later received her teaching credentials. Trudy taught school in Readlyn, Jesup and Greene.
On February of 1930, she was united in marriage to B. F. "Bennie" Dickman at Waverly. He died in 1954. She then married Herbert Pribbenow in June of 1962 at Mason City. They lived in Rockford. Trudy was a member of the First Methodist Church in Rockford where she played the organ for several years and was active in United Methodist Women. Other memberships included the Dingalings, Ulster Homemakers, Royal Neighbors and Senior Citizens. Trudy's interests included playing piano and organ, traveling, playing cards and entertaining in her home.
Living family members include three children, Darlene Suchomel of Urbana, Darlys Dickman of Cedar Rapids and Nancy Scott of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren, Crystal Scott, Michael Scott, John J. (Shelly) Suchomel and Amy (Dan) Clymer; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three brothers, Theodore, Rudolph and Walter Engel; five sisters, Charlotte McKernan, Helen Buttjer, Frances Scott, Marie Kruckenberg and Elizabeth Nordman; and two son's-in-law, John Suchomel and Mike Scott.
