Chester Brandau, 75, of Osage, Iowa, died on Saturday, January 19, 1991, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Eden Presbyterian Church, rural Rudd, with the Rev. John Bates officiating. Burial was in Eden Presbyterian Cemetery.
He was born on December 19, 1915 at Rudd, Iowa, the son of Justus and Amalia (Wohlers) Brandau.
He married Doris Bortz on February 18, 1938 at Rudd. They farmed north of Rudd until retiring and moving to Osage. He was very active in church and community activities and was a member of Eden Presbyterian Church, rural Rudd.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; one daughter, Mrs. Melvin (LaVon) Johansen of Harlingen, Texas; three sons: Harlan and Max, both of rural Nora Springs, and Loren of Rudd; three sisters: Mrs. Clinton (Dorothy) Brandau of Rudd, Mrs. Gilbert (Irma) Glader of Wildwood, Illinois, and Mrs. James (Bernadine) Llewellyn of Lake Forest, Illinois; and one brother, Marvin of Osage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
