SET JAMES LOSEE RITES FOR MONDAY

Greene – Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Marble Rock for James B. Losee, 93, Marble Rock, who died Friday at a nursing home in Nora Springs. The Rev. I. J. Denies will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.

He was born at Marble Rock May 26, 1870, to Hiram and Phoebe Smith Losee. His wife preceded him in death.

Survivors are three daughters, all of Marble Rock; Mrs. Bessie Winfield; Mrs. Evan Maxon; and Millie Losee.

ANNIVERSARY…MR AND MRS. LOSEE MARRIED FIFTY YEARS

Marble Rock – Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Losee celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Tuesday. Mr. Losee was the son of Hiram and Phoebe Losee of Scott Township.

Mrs. Losee was born as May Hawn, daughter of LaFayette and Augusta Hawn of Jefferson County, New York, and came to Iowa and Scott Township at the age of 7.

Mr. and Mrs. Losee were married in Rockford on September 9, 1891, by the Rev. Mr. McKimm of the Methodist Church of that place. They immediately moved on to a farm in Scott Township and although they have lived on several places, all have been in Scott Township.

Tuesday a family dinner was served in the home of their daughter; Mrs. Walter Maxson, who now lives on the place where Mr. Losee was born and where Mr. ad Mrs. Losee lived for many years prior to their coming to Marble Rock this spring.

The other children; J. Vern Losee and Bessie, now Mrs. Dale Winfield and their families were present, all of them living in Scott Township.
