Minerva Katherine Zipse, 74, of Route 2, Clear Lake, Iowa, died on Wednesday, March 11, 1992, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with Rev. J.J. Slepicka officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, Iowa.

Minerva Katherine Zipse was born on August 16, 1917, in Minnesota, the daughter of John and Lena (Christensen) Neal. She attended Charles City schools and graduated from Charles City High School.

For several years she was a telephone operator with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company at Charles City and later in Chicago, Illinois. She married Elwood L. Zipse on June 29, 1948, at Immaculate Conception Church in Charles City.

They moved to Clear lake in 1953, where she and her husband operated All Vets Social Center until 1958. She then worked as a secretary at Andrew's Pre-Stress in Clear Lake, for several years.

In 1961 they purchased their business, Zipse's Northern Music Company, Mason City, which she operated with her husband.

She enjoyed antiquing, bridge club, crocheting, reading and sewing. She especially enjoyed spending time with, and caring for, her family.

Survivors include her mother, Lena Neal, Clear Lake; her husband, Elwood L. Zipse, Clear Lake; two daughters, Catherine Frampton of Iowa City, and Willi Carney of Clear Lake; one son, Elwood Zipse Jr., Nora Springs; six grandchildren: Brandon Frampton, Cory Carney, Christopher Carney, Shawna Minerva Olsen, Rachel Vasil and Lindsay Waychus; and two nieces, Connie Menken of Greene and Joan Loomer of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Florence Majewski.
