Harold Raymond White, 81, of Rudd, Iowa, died on Tuesday, December 8, 1992 at Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 12, 1992 at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs, with Rev. S. Sorensen of the Christian Church officiating. Burial Was in Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd.

Harold White was born on June 29, 1911, in Powell, South Dakota, the son of Sherman and Gertrude (Plopper) White. He married Bonita Kollman on November 17, 1945, in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

When he was four years old his family moved to Cortland, New York. Later his family moved to Mountain View, Missouri, and then they moved to Fontanella. He graduated from grant High School and also the Coin Electric School in Chicago, Illinois. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on July 8, 1941, serving in Kodiak, Alaska; France and Germany; serving until October 31, 1945.

He and his wife lived in the Grant area doing telephone and electric work until they moved to Rudd in 1946. He then worked for the Farmer's Mutual Telephone Co., Nora Springs. He attended and graduated from Hamilton Business College and then worked in the office of the Oliver Co., Charles City, for 28 years, retiring in 1976. After this, he worked part time at the Hy Vee East and attended H & R Block School.

He was a member of the Rudd Senior Jolly Rudd'rs where he was treasurer. He enjoyed his family, friends, music, card playing, and especially cross-word puzzles.

Survivors include his wife, Bonita White, Rudd; two sons, Dorryl "Slim" White and Karlin "Shorty" White, both of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren: Toby White and his wife Leslie of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Jonathan White, Robin White and Toy White, all of San Antonio, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.
