Leone Charlotte (Steuben) Rhoads Hall – December 19, 1915 – April 7, 2005

ROCKFORD, ILL. - Leone Rhoads Hall, age 89, of Rockford, Ill., died on Thursday, April 7, 2005, at St. Marys Care Center in Madison.

She was born on Dec. 19, 1915, in Charles City, Iowa, daughter of Baron and Lydia Charlotte (Kober) Steuben. She married Darrell W. Rhoads on July 27, 1941. He died on Feb. 28, 1990, in Rockford, Ill. She later married Daniel Hall on Feb. 2, 1991. He died on Jan. 3, 2005.

Leone received a B.A. in music education from the University of Northern Iowa. She was a music teacher in the Rockford school system, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church and a former member of the Bell Ringers. She had also been a pianist for the Sunday school. Leone was also a member of Mendelsohn Club, P.F.O. Sisterhood, Rock River Valley Needlework Guild and the Rockford Symphony Orchestra Guild.

Survivors include daughters, Nancy Rhoads of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Mary (Dr. Paul) Bredeson of Mount Horeb; a son, William (Robin) Rhoads, D.D.S.; step-children, Nancy (Robert) Peterson of Marshalltown, Iowa, Barbara (Charles) Bess of Pensacola, Fla., and Daniel Crawford (Donna) Hall of Ithaca, N.Y.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; a brother; and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2005, at FRED C. OLSON FUNERAL CHAPELS LTD., EAST CHAPEL, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford, Ill., with the Rev. Steven Mindrup officiating. Burial will be in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the chapel. Memorials appreciated to Court Street United Methodist Church and the Mendelsohn Club.
