Sharon L (Reetz) Sadler – January 4, 1935 – February 20, 1965

ROCKFORD WOMAN DIES; SHOT BY HUSBAND JANUARY 1ST

Charles City – Mrs. Eldon Sadler, 30, Rockford, died in a hospital here Saturday.

Mrs. Sadler had been hospitalized here since January 1st of injuries suffered in a shooting at her farm home.

Her husband, Eldon, 29, has been held in the Floyd County jail here since the shooting on a charge of assault with intent to commit murder. Authorities say Sadler shot his wife and then wounded himself.

Floyd County Sheriff I. L. Lane said Monday that there has been no change in the charges. Any change, he said, will be made by the grand jury.

Charles City – Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church here for Mrs. Elson (Sharon) Sadler, 30, who died Saturday at a Charles City Hospital.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter Terry; two sons, Stephen and Douglas, all at home; her parents, Carlton Reetz, Charles City; and Mrs. Darlene Reetz, Chicago; her grandmother; Mrs. Carl Reetz, Charles City; two brothers; Carlton Reetz, Jr., and James, both of Charles City; and a sister; Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Siemers, Chicago.
