STAUDT, Clement J. 1910-1992

Clement J. Staudt, 82, of Marble Rock, Iowa, died on Monday, December 14, 1992, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Roseville, with Rev. W. Brunkan officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery at Roseville. Fullerton Hage Funeral Home of Charles City was in charge of arrangements.

The rosary was recited in the afternoon Tuesday, and a scriptural wake service held at the funeral home Tuesday evening.

Mr. Staudt was born on February 2, 1910, on the family farm in rural Marble Rock. He attended rural schools in Union Township, Floyd County, Iowa, and St. Mary's Parochial School at Roseville.

On January 22, 1940 he was married to Susan Josephine Zeien, at St. Mary's Church at Roseville. The couple made their home on his family's farm, where he was engaged in farming, until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include three sons and their wives: Vincent and Linda, Dennis and Patty, and Cletus and Susan, all of rural Marble Rock; one daughter, Sister Marjorie Staudt, O.S.P., of Dubuque; one brother, Earl Staudt, rural Marble Rock. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Julie Merfeld, Angie Johnson, Michelle Kutschat and Jennifer, Scott, Kyle, Troy, Ann, Jill, and Luke Staudt; and five great-grandchildren: Diann, Anthony and Emily Merfeld, Derek Johnson and Jessica Kutschat.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, who died on May 13, 1988 in Charles City; four brothers: Leo J., George, Paul, and Carl Staudt; an done great-granddaughter, Stephanie Kutschat.
