BODY OF AGED WOMAN WILL BE BROUGHT TO
NORA SPRINGS FOR INTERMENT

Nora Springs, Iowa, June 25 – Mrs. Roby Nelson, 89, formerly of Nora Springs, died at Long Beach, California, Monday. The body will be brought back to Nora Springs the last of the week and the funeral will be held at her home here probably on Saturday.

Burial will be in Park Cemetery beside her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson were early pioneers and lived on a farm four and one-half miles east of town.

SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. NELSON
NORA SPRINGS PIONEER WHO DIED IN CALIFORNIA IS BURIED

Nora Springs, June 29 – Funeral services for Mrs. Roby Nelson, 89, were held at her home in Nora Springs Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. George Hess of Charles City.

Roby Sophia Cadman was born at Saratoga, New York, on May 2, 1842, and died in Long Beach, California. The early part of her life was spent in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

On July 12, 1856, she was married to Nealy Nelson. To this union two sons were born, both of whom preceded their mother in death.

Sixty one years ago Mr. and Mrs. Nelson came to Iowa and located on a farm between Nora Springs and Rudd, where they lived for many years, finally retiring to Nora Springs. Mr. Nelson died in 1917.

She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ed Nelson of Grinnell.

Roby Sophia Cadman was the daughter of George and Lydia Cadman. Her parents are buried in Newark Cemetery, Beloit, Rock County, Wisconsin.

She married Robinson “Nealy” William Nelson. He was born January 11, 1834 in Pennsylvania and died June 5, 1917 in Nora Springs.
