Harold J. Schuver, 72, of Nora Springs, Iowa, died on Thursday, May 21, 1992, at Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa.

A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City, with Joseph Slepicka and Rev. J. Kremer officiating. Burial was in Park Cemetery, where military honors were conducted by HDS American Legion Post No. 449, Nora Springs.

Mr. Schuver was born on January 23, 1920, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a son of Nicholas and Rose (Jungers) Schuver. He married Shirley L. Burlingham on September 26, 1942, at Rockford.

A graduate of Nora Springs High School, Mr. Schuver served in the U.S. Signal Corps during World War II. Following his discharge he returned to Nora Springs and began Schuver Implements in 1945. He continued to operate the business until 1981 when he retired. He served on the Nora Springs Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City, and HDS American Legion Post No. 449, Nora Springs.

Survivors include four sons: Craig Schuver and his wife Joyce of Clear Lake, Steven Schuver and his wife Cathy of San Antonio, Texas, Bruce Schuver and his wife Connie of Oswego, Illinois, William Schuver and his wife Deb of Eureka, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Norbert Schuver of Nora Springs; and one sister, Evelyn Vala, Nora Springs.

Mr. Schuver was preceded in death by his parents; and by his wife, Shirley, in 1991.
