VICTIM DIES OF SLEEP SICKNESS
MRS. JOHN PETRY SUCCUMBS; LABOUNTY BODY BROUGHT FROM IOWA CITY

Charles City, Feb. 6 – Mrs. John Petry, about 54, died at 7:45 o’clock Wednesday morning from what was apparently sleeping sickness. She had been confined to her home since returning from Chicago the first part of January, where she visited over New Year’s with her daughter. She succumbed at her home on 400 West Blunt Street.

Surviving are her husband and a daughter, Mary. She was prominent in church, P.T.A. and social circles.

Henrietta Dorothy Meyer was born July 1878 in Iowa, the daughter of William Meyer and Anna Marie (Schneider) Meyer.

She married Dr. John Petry, a dentist in Iowa.
