Thomas Albert Moon – July 29, 1849 – May 9, 1930

MOON FUNERAL HELD IN NORA SPRINGS
PIONEER OF FLOYD COUNTY WAS NATIVE OF ENGLAND; DIED OF CANCER

Nora Springs, May 13 – Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon for Thomas Albert Moon who died Friday night from cancer of the stomach. Services were conducted by the Rev. H. A. Crumb pastor of the M. E. church at this place. There was a large attendance at the funeral.

He was born in Lancashire, England, July 29, 1849. When but two years of age he came with his parents to America and settled in Illinois where they took government land and passed thru the many hardships of pioneer life.

In 1876 he was married to Ella Laskey. About 40 years ago they came to Iowa and settled on a farm south of Nora Springs, later moving to town.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter; Mrs. Ernest Sherman and three grandchildren; Audrey, Shirley and Francis Sherman, all of Nora Springs.
