Mary Alta, daughter of Herman E. and Frances Waid Ponto was born in Cedar township near Charles City, Iowa, January 21, 1904 and departed this live at the Cedar Valley Hospital, Charles City, Iowa, at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, June 8, 1930

She grew to womanhood in the community where she was born and on September 3, 1927, she was united in marriage with Arlo Lyle Noah, at Charles City, and as a result of this union the following four children were born, Maxine, Marion, Wendell and Wayne, who with the husband and father survive her.

Besides her husband and children she leaves her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Herman E. Ponto, and one sister, Mrs. Paul Schrader of Earlham, Iowa and many other near relatives.

Having been a life-long resident of the community where she was born, she has been closely identified with the interests of the neighborhood where her beautiful and splendid life has been a living testimony of kindness and goodness thus all join with the family in this great sorrow.

She was a loving daughter, a true and faithful wife and mother, a most generous and kindly neighbor and friend whose influence will be sadly missed by all.

Funeral services were held at the Hauser Funeral Home at Charles City, Iowa, Tuesday, June 10, at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. G.A. Hess, pastor of the First Christian Church with interment at Riverside Cemetery.
