Peter Henry Petersen – May 14, 1863 – February 26, 1936
FUNERAL FOR PETERSEN 72, NORA SPRINGS; IS CONDUCTED AT CHURCH
Nora Springs – Funeral services for Peter Henry Petersen, 72, were held Saturday afternoon at the American Lutheran Church here. The Rev. Oliver L. N. Wigdahl, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City officiated. Burial was in Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Glen Bishop, Jay Bishop, Dale Bitterman, Chris Graham, Hans Paulsen and Ellsworth Treloar.
Mr. Petersen died at his home February 26th after an extended illness.
He was born in North Schleswig, Germany, May 14, 1863. He came to America, settling in Jones County near Anamosa.
In 1901 he came to Cerro Gordo County where he was married to Marie Sieverts in 1902. They lived on a farm near Portland until 1912 when they purchased the Pippert farm 2 miles west of Nora Springs which was their home since.
Mr. Petersen is survived by his wife and six children; Mrs. L. H. Kehm of Flint, Michigan; Joan Petersen of Chicago; Carl H. Petersen of Nora Springs; Mrs. Howard Barker of Mason City; Dorothea Petersen of Rockford, Illinois; and Yvonne Petersen at home and by two grandchildren; Jo Ann Charlotte and James Carl Petersen.
