Margaret Eloise Meehan, 72, of Nora Springs, Iowa, died Sunday, November 29, 1992, at her home in Nora Springs.

Private family inurnment services were at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, Iowa, with Rev. R. Pippert of the United Methodist Church, Nora Springs, officiating. Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs, was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Eloise Meehan was born on October 1, 1920, in Eldora, the daughter of William Henry and Lillian Edith (Rafferty) Buck. She was baptized in the Methodist Church in Mason City and received her elementary education in the Eldora school system, graduating from Mason City High School in 1938.

After completing her formal education, she was united in marriage to Laurence Kiger in 1938 in Mason City. Mr. Kiger preceded her in death on February 12, 1985**. After her marriage she worked for Lyons Cleaners and the Mason City Laundry as pressor operator. She was united in marriage to Arley Meehan on November 9, 1963, in Mason City.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening and fishing. Margaret will be best remembered by family and friends as a very unselfish person who gave of herself freely.

Survivors include her husband Arley Meehan of Mason City; two daughters, Margaret Shanks of Nora Springs and Jeanette and her husband James Bruhn of Davenport; one son, Laurence and his wife Gloria Kiger, Kahoka, Missouri; two brothers, Bill and his wife Mary Buck, Riceville, and Ray and his wife Mary Buck, Portland; three sisters: Daisy and her husband Clifford Brown of Griffith, Indiana, Eva Wehrman, Kansas City, Missouri, and Ruth and her husband Roy Smith, Mason City; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Besides her first husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Henrietta Kiger; one brother, Clyde Buck; and one sister, Grace Patterson.
