Arlo H. Marchant, 89, of the Rockford Manor, died Wednesday, March 4, 1992 at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs, Iowa.

Graveside services were held on Friday at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, Iowa, conducted by Mrs. Dorothy North.

Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, Mason City, was in charge of arrangements.

Arlo Marchant was born on November 7, 1902 in Rockford, to William M. and Martha B. (Metz) Marchant. He married Opal B. Yerkes on September 25, 1923, in Waterloo, Iowa.

He lived nearly all of his life around the Rockford and Nora Springs area. He worked for John Deere and Oliver, and had been a businessman in Rockford and Nora Springs.

Survivors include one son, Jerry A. Marchant, Colorado Springs, Colorado; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dean (Lee) Marchant, Clear Lake; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, one brother, two sisters and one granddaughter.
