Earl S. Hinrichsen, 73, of Nora Springs, Iowa, died on Thursday, June 4, 1992, at his home.
Funeral services were held on Monday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, with Rev. C. Clarkson officiating. Burial was in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.
Earl Hinrichsen was born April 19, 1919, in Rock Falls, to Martin and Margaret (Hinrichsen) Hinrichsen. He married Betty Ravenstead on March 28, 1941 in Sheffield.
He was raised in Rock Falls and graduated from Rock Falls High School. He and his family farmed in that area until 1952, when they moved to Nora Springs and farmed until retirement in 1984.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to play cribbage. He was a seed corn salesman for many years. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Nora Springs; one son, Jack Hinrichsen and his wife, Peggy of Nora Springs; two daughters, Linda Ombrello and her husband Alan of Whitehall, Pa., and Laurie Severe and her husband Richard "Tony" of Mason City; four grandchildren: Scott Hinrichsen and his wife, Kim of Olivia, Minnesota, Shawn Hinrichsen of Nora Springs, Amy Ombrello of Whitehall, Pa., and Chelsy Severe of Mason City; twin great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Hinrichsen of Osage; one sister, Helen Reynolds, Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one granddaughter, Jennifer Severe.
