Arthur Edward Kemp – October 18, 1892 – November 1962

ARTHUR E. KEMP RITES THURSDAY AT CHARLES CITY

CHARLES CITY — Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p. m. at St. John Lutheran church for Arthur Edward Kemp, 70. He died Monday evening at the Cedar Valley Hospital. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens with military rites by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and World War I Veterans. The Grossman-Hage Funeral Home in in charge of arrangements.

Born October 18, 1892 in Dubuque, he was the son of Charles and Emma Bartels Kemp. On July 18, 1918, he was married to Elenora Joachim in Alta Vista. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, a veteran of World War I, was a member of the American Legion and World War I Veterans. He had owned and operated a restaurant 20 years and later owned and operated a grocery store 10 years.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Irvin, two grandchildren, all of Charles City; and three brothers, Oscar and Carl Kemp, both of New Hampton; and Ed Kemp, Alta Vista.
