Funeral services for Irene Barth, 97, of Marble Rock, Iowa, were held on Monday, April 13, 1992, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marble Rock, with Rev. J. Albrecht officiating, and with burial in the Hillside Cemetery in Marble Rock.

Irene was born on April 15, 1894, at Braddagin, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of Charles C. and Wilhemina (Benneweis) Rock. On January 8, 1919, she married Norman Herbert of Stratford, Ontario, Canada. He died on January 15, 1937. On November 1, 1939, she was united in marriage to William Barth. Mr. and Mrs. Barth farmed near Marble Rock until their retirement in 1948. Mr. Barth died on April 21, 1965.

On Thursday, April 9, 1992, Irene died at the Good Sheperd Nursing home in Mason City, having reached the advanced age of 97 years, 11 months and 24 days. She leaves to join her husbands, two sisters, Martha Eickmeier and Vera Herbert; and three brothers, Edwin, Norman and Lawrence.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.
