Jewett Andrew Clay – January 12, 1876 – June 19, 1943

Marble Rock – Jewett Clay, 67, died suddenly of heart failure. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Clay at Marble Rock, January 12, 1876. He married Minnie Rex, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Rex, in Marble Tock 44 years ago.

Mr. Clay was a photographer for 45 years and his health failed about a year and a half ago. He followed this profession in Cedar Falls, Tipton, Charles City, Mason City and Carroll with 23 years being spent in Charles City. He returned to Marble Rock about a year and a half ago and purchased a home near the high school on College Street.

He leaves his widow; two sisters; Mrs. Pearlie Arthur, Marble Rock; and Mrs. Wm. Trimble, Cedar Falls; and a brother Al Clay, Marble Rock, who made his home with him. Funeral will be Tuesday.
