GARY PAUL GILDNER -- March 21, 1946 – July 26, 2004

IRVINE, Calif. -- Gary Paul Gildner, 58, of Irvine, Calif. , passed away on July 26, 2004.

Gary was born March 21, 1946, the son of Paul and Leora (Burlingham) Gildner. He attended Nora Springs-Rock Falls schools, continuing his education at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1969 with degrees earned in industrial engineering and finance.

Gary then moved to California, where he continued to reside until his death.

He was employed by leading manufacturers with his chosen profession, namely ITT Cannon and Rockwell Collins, until 1992 when he started his own business, Energy Flow Inc.

He inherited his love of gadgetry and electronics from his father, Paul, as well as fishing.

Gary enjoyed living near the ocean, and requested to have his ashes put to sea following his organ donation and cremation.

He was an accomplished bicyclist, and through this hobby and other interests he was blessed with a wide circle of friends whose devotion to Gary has been a source of great comfort to his survivors.

His passing will also be felt by many lifelong friends in his hometown, of Nora Springs.

Gary will be especially missed by his sister, Linda Marshall and husband, Bill, of Nora Springs; nieces, Becky Marshall and Mindy Marshall, of Mason City; and nephew, Mark Marshall, of Stanhope.
Also left to remember Gary are his uncle, Tom Burlingham and wife, Ethel, of Mesa, Ariz.; and cousins, Byron Burlingham, Barbara Elliott, Craig, Steve, Bruce and Bill Schuver.

His parents preceded him in death.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to the Make A Wish Foundation, Opportunity Village or a charity of their choice in Gary’s memory.
