EVANSDALE, IOWA — Carol Bickel Carmody, 72, of Evansdale, died Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born December 10, 1939, in Denver, daughter of Lou Schroeder and Dorothy Kelling. She married Myron Jay Bowles in 1955 in San Diego, and they later divorced. She later married Jay Bickel Sr. in St. Joseph, Missouri, and they later divorced. She married Bob Carmody in 1993 in Charles City. He died in 2006.

Mrs. Carmody graduated from Denver High School. She was a certified nurse’s aide for 30 years at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Nora Springs, retiring in 2004.

Carol is survived by four sons: Clayton (Anita) Bowles of La Porte City, Scott (Jane) Bowles, David (Jewel) Bowles and Jay Bickel Jr., all of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda (Don) Haberkorn of Kingman, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Ranson.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday at Countryside Vineyard Church, 3467 Lafayette Road, Evansdale, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Denver. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.
