MRS. RYAN FUNERAL IS HELD AT NORA SPRINGS; BURIAL AT MASON CITY

Nora Springs, March 30 – Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ann Hunter Ryan, 81, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Martin-Sheckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Conrad Buehler officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Mason City.

Mrs. Ryan was born at Perth, Sask., Canada, July 27, 1853. When she was four the family moved to Faribault, Minnesota, where she spent her earlier years.

On April 11, 1876 she was married to Silas H. Ryan. Mrs. Ryan with her family moved to Mason City in 1911 where they lived three years after which they moved to Nora Springs, living here the past 23 years.

Mrs. Ryan had been in poor health several years and last November suffered a stroke from which she rallied and she was able to be around the house again.

She is survived by her children, Orah Ryan of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Grace Roberts, Carpenter; Charles Ryan and Mrs. Clara Riesdorf, both of Nora Springs and Stephen Ryan of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Her husband died October 11, 1918. Pearl Peterson and Willis Ryan also preceded their mother in death.
