Charles City, Iowa - Philip "Phil" Jensen, 80, of Charles City, died Sunday, August 19, 2012, at his farm.

A funeral Mass for Phil Jensen will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Carl Ries will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City. Military Honors will be conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday where there will be a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the service.

The Hauser Funeral Home, in Charles City, 641-228-2323, is in charge of arrangements.

Philip "Phil" Jensen, 80, of Charles City, died Sunday, August 19, 2012, at his farm.

A funeral Mass for Phil Jensen will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Carl Ries will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City. Military Honors will be conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Philip Carl Jensen was born December 30, 1931, at Littlefork, Minnesota, the son of Carl and Mary (Pyzick) Jensen. He graduated from Charles City High School. Phil served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On November 22, 1952, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Howe at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Evelyn died on June 30, 2004. They dairy farmed south of Charles City all their lives. After retirement Phil enjoyed driving for Winnebago for several years. He was one of those who "never needed a map" to get where he was going. Phil was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the V.F.W. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, canning and traveling. Phil will be remembered as a jack of all trades and as being an inventor who could fix anything.

Living family members include six children, Joel (Marcia) Jensen of Denver, Jerome "Romey" Jensen and special friend Lynette of Powersville, Jeffrey (Queen) Jensen of Charles City, Jay (Deb) Jensen of Cedar Falls, Jonathan (Kim) Jensen of Charles City and Jennifer Mackey of West Union; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Clarence (Maryann) Jensen of Greene; and two sisters, Joan Litchfield of Nashua and Delores (Danny) Hammel of Abbortsford, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a brother, David Jensen.
