Columbus Halstead – July 4, 1857 – August 13, 1944

FORMER RESIDENT OF MARBLE ROCK DIED IN WISCONSIN

Marble Rock – Columbus Halstead, aged 87, a former resident of Marble Rock, died at a hospital in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, August 13, after a six month illness.

Mr. Halstead was born at Marble Rock on July 4, 1857, the son of Charles and Clarissa (Brower) Halstead. He lived at Marble Rock until 18 years ago when he went to Sherry, Wisconsin to make his home with Mr. and Mrs. Will Hank.

His first wife died and two children died in infancy and November 14, 1923 he married Ellen Ritter of Marble rock. She preceded him in death on February 3, 1929.

One brother, Charles s. Halstead of Washington, survives.
