MRS. BERT ESSER PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Cassie I. Esser, widow of the late Bert Esser of Rockford, died at a Cedar Rapids hospital Friday afternoon.

She was born April 7, 1877 at Clarksville, and had been in Cedar Rapids for three weeks visiting relatives. Death was caused by cancer.

She is survived by her daughter; Mrs. Frank Paulus, her son, Harry Hanson; and her mother; Mrs. Bell Mosier, all of Rockford.

She also leaves two brothers; Harry Mosier of Randall, Minnesota; and Ira Mosier of Cedar Rapids; two sisters; Mrs. Clarence Wilson of Mora, Minnesota; and Mrs. Otto Huxol of Rockford; besides three grandchildren.

The funeral services and burial were held at Rockford Monday afternoon. It will be remembered that Mr. Esser’s death was caused by an accidental shooting.

Cassie Mosier was born April 7, 1877, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Bell (Markle) Mosier (1925 Iowa Census).

She married Joseph P. Hanson. He died in 1911, and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

She married Albert “Bert” Esser after the death of her first husband.
