RITTER, SOURS, SCHULTZ, HANK

John A. Ritter was born at South Bend, Indiana on October 17, 1850 and died at his home in Marble Rock, Iowa on November 7, 1918, aged 68 years, 21 days.

He was united in marriage to Ellen J. Sours on October 27, 1878 and to this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Hattie Schultz of Greene, Iowa, and Mrs. Mayne Hank of Marble Rock; and six sons: William H. of Dixson, South Dakota, James A. of Marble Rock, Samuel S. of Greene, John P. of Greene, Lloyd A. of Marble Rock, and Paul I. of Marble Rock.

He leaves to mourn his departure, besides his faithful wife and these eight children, his mother, three brothers, four sisters, and nineteen grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, November 9, 1918, at the late home in Marble Rock by Rev. Hess of Charles City, and the body laid to rest in the Westside Cemetery.
