BERT ESSER IS
ACCIDENTLY KILLEDBert Esser for many years a prominent resident of Scott Township was accidentally shot and killed at Rockford last Thursday.
He, with his friend, Mr. Haines were starting out to shoot pheasants, but just how the accident happened we were unable to learn. Mr. Haines' gun was accidentally discharged, the charge entering Mr. Esser in the thigh. Death followed before the hospital could be reached.
Mr. Esser moved from his farm into Rockford a few years ago.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters and one son.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Rockford, Sunday afternoon and the body was brought to Marble Rock for burial and was laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery beside the grave of his first wife, who was before her marriage, Miss Leona Halstead of Marble Rock.
Mr. Esser passed away on his 55th birthday. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all Marble Rock friends.
