Martin Burnell Sigler –March 22, 1910 – June 1, 1957

M. SIGLER RITES TUESDAY

Charles City – Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home for Martin Sigler, 47, who died Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Waverly, where he had been a patient since May 28 with a chronic heart ailment. The Rev. C. L. Oelfke of the Rudd Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at Floyd.

Mr. Sigler farmed two miles east and 1 ˝ miles south of Rudd, and has been in failing health for the past three years. He was a member of the Rudd Methodist Church and had lived all of his life in the Floyd and Rudd communities.

He was born March 22, 1910, at Floyd, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Sigler. He was married to Dorothy Jenkins on March 1, 1929.

He is survived by his wife, two sons; Martin, Burbank, California, and Larry, at home; two daughters; Mrs. Jerald Parker, Long Beach, California; and Connie Raye, at home; two brothers; Clifford, Floyd and Laverne, rural, Charles City; five sisters; Mrs. Lee Holtz and Mrs. Charlotte Grey, both of Charles City; Mrs. Oliver Bonewitz, Rudd; Mrs. Gilbert Johnson, Floyd; and Opal Canfield, Cedar Rapids; and his mother; Myrtle Sigler.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, his father, one brother and one sister.
